Tuesday Extravaganza part 7

No progress since Friday, due to the IHSW weekend, and then a little distraction by a thriller. I can't believe I have read an entire book in pretty much a day. I have started it after lunch yesterday and completed it when I woke up before breakfast. Being a part time librarian I shouldn't be surprised that I still have an ability to do a book in (almost) one sitting.

The book was by Charlaine Harris (and no it wasn't one of the horrific True Blood series). It was called 'Real Murders', part of Aurora Teagarden series. I guess one of the biggest appeals of the book was the main character, a librarian interested in murder; who has the same problems when going shopping as me - being unable to reach the top shelves!

From the distraction and on to the stitching ... this is what you saw last Tuesday:

part 6

When I have taken the stitching out to be photographed I have almost started stitching more. I really want to get the massive fabric, threads and sit with it for hours. But today, the last day before mum's departure on her holiday will be more of a mundane nature ... I think.

part 7

Thank you for all your comments. They are very appreciated,

    1. Thank you. Even so it will probably take me 3 years to stitch!

  4. Great work on your stitching =)

I know what you mean about getting distracted by reading. I am currently taking part in a reading challenge (haha, I love free books), so I got to do some reading again. I just noticed how fast time can fly by when you read (I don't read so much since I started stitching, there are people who can knit and read at once, so I guess there are people who can stitch and read at once, but not me ;-) ) I nearly forgot about the pleasures of reading ;-)

    1. I do knitting too, and I tend to be able to watch tv/films while stitching or knitting. As long as they are not foreign (cannot deal with subtitles). Someone once joked that should try reading at the same time too. I thought and I thought and I came to a conclusion - talking books. They are great (and can be borrowed from the library free of charge too - on top of the book allowance!). So now I listen to books while I stitch, as long as the voice is pleasant, and it isn't something that requires loads of concentration. Listening to 'The Utterly Impartial History of Britain' was a failure for the stitching.

    1. Highly doubt that ... a few years or so most likely. But thank you.

    1. Thanks. I think I saw one of the books in the series in one of the local libraries - in fact I know I did ... had to hunt for it since someone reserved it. I might even reach the series at one stage or another ... first the Aurora Teagarden (if she doesn't start frustrating me), then the Lily Bard series, and then the Grave Sight (it is crime right?).

    1. Thank you. And I do ... I find I have to place upside down as I end up staring at it for long spells of time - silly me one cannot even see that much emerging yet. Hope your moving is going well.

  8. It's so nice to just lose yourself in a good book, isn't it? I do that quite a bit too. You've done a lot of your piece. The colors are beautiful! :D

    1. Thank you. The colours confuse me a little I have to admit. They look gorgeous on the piece, but horrid in my TUSAL jar. Very strange.

  11. Thank you. It was a hippo (but similar colours so I guess can look a little like an elephant). Good luck on your new blog!
