Wipocalypse - April 2015 (I have a finish!) and Sheep #3.5

Hello all,

I can't believe this, but I actually have some progress to show... and with it a completion of two of my goals!

First up is a finish of 'Ember II' by Maia. Just in time, as I am going up North again for a few days. So can finally gift it.

April 2015
It even has some french knots! Not sure if they are seeable.

April 2015
My second completed goal is not as exciting ... I have finished a page of 'Field of Poppies'. Technically this is incorrect as when I have put up this goal I assumed there were 8 a4 pages, but there are actually 4 a3. I decided not to correct the goal as essentially I was correct in equivalent proportions.

April 2015

I did have some progress on another two projects selected for Wipocalypse ... but unfortunately I somehow forgot to photograph it, so some other time. I have slightly amended my goals to have 25 in total (easier to calculate percentage). Maybe a little crazy but we will see. I highly doubt they will all be achieved.

And as for Sheep update (that should have happened last Sunday):

1000 stitches

I think about two more weeks and this will be complete.

Till soon,

Sheep #2.2, TUSAL and Wipocalypse final post ...

Dear all,

I know I promised to have posted earlier ... but it has been really busy with the holidays (and then work) here ... my mum and little brother are were here to visit ... so we have been eating non stop, spending money, and eating more.

Hope everyone's festivities went well, I even managed to get a bit of stitching in. I got my sister a cross stitch present ... a kit for a bookmark. She is almost done with it already!!!

400 stitches in! I almost done the next lot ... but still have till tomorrow
[aside: I started composing this post earlier than it was posted].

TUSAL ... a bit of a failure on the posting front as the year worn on ... I have here September till now (as I left the beginning of the year's ORTs up North):

Next up is the Wipocalypse update ... (to some degree probably a failure):

1) Good Heavens by Margaret Sherry [Goal: Complete]

December 2013
No progress whatsoever, so back to being a UFO.

2) Christmas Candle - HAED [Goal: Complete another 5 3 pages]
So only 1/5 3 (goal) and 4/36 (total)

December 2013

only one page done a year later!

and I started the next page
Another page and a bit and I will reach the end of the first row. This project has been a struggle for me. I still love it for most part. Unlike the dragon for which I picked the wrong fabric this one is okay to stitch (apart from balancing the massive frame). It is just that I have soooo many projects, new and old, that it seems never enough time to concentrate just on one.

3) Yiota's Xstitch: Field of Poppies [Goal: Complete]
Based on Van Gogh's painting

January 2014
Nothing done at all. So a massive failure for this goal.

4) 'Picture of elegance'. [Goal: Complete]

December 2013
Ehm, as above. This update is getting more upsetting by the minute.

5) Literate Dragon - HAED [Goal: complete the full SAL]

December 2013

This one has actually had some work done ...

1/4 pages done!

Regarding my UFOs ... lets say they remain mostly as such ... no change to:

6) Xmas Chums [Goal: Complete by next Christmas ... as if]

June 2012
Back to the lack of progress shame.

7)  'Tending the Flock' [Goal: Pick up and work on even if just a little]

Before 2012
No movement whatsoever.

8) Making Lickle Wishes [Goal: turn to a WIP]

April 2012
Ehm ... a pattern beginning to emerge of UFOs remaining UFOs?

9) Cabin Fever by Dimensions (Gold Collection) [Goal: turn into a WIP]

September 2012
July 2014

A tiny, tiny bit of progress!

10) John Clayton: Venice [Goal: complete]

December 2012
Still not unpicked!

New Starts:

11) JR01 Lean on Me by Judy Rossouw (anchor) [Goal: complete]

January 2014

May 2014
12) QS Poisonous Beauties by Jasmine Becket-Griffith - HAED [Goal: Complete 1 page]
So far 0/9

July 2014
I blame the move for the lack of progress.

 13) Ember II by Maia [Goal: Complete]

May 2014
14) Harmony by Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe

November 2014

I really like how this project is coming along. I actually have more of the border stitched over Christmas.

15) Venice by Michael Powell

This is a triptych that I am stitching as one, and the first of the three has 6 pages. So I have done approximately one and a half.

December 2014

16) Brollies by Heritage Crafts (Twilights Series)

December 2014
This is actually a finish ... if you remember I had 'Boats' done from the series back in 2013 (I think).

And the photos of stash promised in the lats post:

Till soon,

Wipocalypse - September 2014 report...

Oh dear ... almost October post time (2 days time!). So what I will do is post only one update for now (a photo I took before moving at the end of August ... that way it is fair and all the progress that belongs to October will be hopefully up soon.

Christmas Candle (HAED):

July 2014

September 2014
I have essentially worked on filling in more hair.  And you can see most of it done here:

September 2014 closeup
Unfortunately I had to leave this wip behind up North due to its size. I will try to work on it the next time I visit, but not much progress will be done on this one for some time.

Till soon,

P.S. Who is your favourite person to stitch for, or do you prefer to keep your stitching yourself? I tend to mostly stitch for me or rather my box of finishes, but I do also stitch for mum (remember the Fizzy Moon bears, and attempt at Sara Moon for 2 birthdays ago that is still in progress), and also for selling (remember the gingerbread man?).

Click HERE to see it on Etsy

Isn't he cute ... all ready for Christmas. Albeit it was last year that I stitched him (but a little too late for Christmas). There are some biscornus also available.  And just one more picture down the memory lane of my favourites (with the Snowflower Diaries design on that sold last October):

Wipocalypse - August 2014 report ...

Hello all,

Since the last Wipocalypse update was very late hence subsequently the current one has little progress to show. So just a quick post ...

Venice Palazzo by Michael Powell:

July 2014

August 2014

Till soon,

P.S. Oldest and Newest wip ... the newest you have just above. It is the latest start and the most loved wip at the moment. The oldest is 'Tending the Flock'. (To see it click on the Wipocalypse tab.) It comes from the days when I just restarted my cross stitch endeavours and is stitched in 4 strands. I liked my work bulky when I was younger, but now I sort of find it hard to stitch.

Is it really Wipocalypse time again? - post #5 - a month later I manage to finish this post

Is it really that time again? It seems I have posted my progress only yesterday.

Oh well the blogging feed says what it says so be it. [please note I wrote this bit a long while ago, its seems it along with photos has been in drafts forever]

Let start with a biggie ... I have a finish wooohooo (I was going to share it in a separate post in advance, but the time has run out it seems).

I recently had this finishing mode. Where I had one finish after another. This, the Snowflower Diaries' one, I also completed my input on the latest doll in progress. Hair sewn, and body stuffed. She is looking gorgeous. Then I picked up my knitting (a project being stored for a year or two). It is a jumper that I almost finished and only had half the sleeves to go. It has a mildly complicated pattern so once you put it down picking up and figuring out what line of pattern you are on amidst what to increase what to decrease. Anyhow it isn't done yet, but getting close. I am now beginning slowly to decrease the sleeves, just above the armpits essentially. The confusing part is that I think the pattern is telling me to decrease too slowly, and judging by my tension I will have a rather long shoulder. I need to find my original tension sample. I have decreased the amount of stitches according to this, but as most of pattern tells you how much to knit in length rather than rows I don't remember paying too much attention to that.

Christmas Candle

you saw this progress a few days ago in the Tuesday post:

April 2014

May 2014
But I am actively stitching on this project at the moment. Getting through all that confetti hair. It isn't too bad to be honest I imagine the golden leaves to the right will be a lot harder if the first leaf that I had on page #1 is anything to judge by. Threading just for one stitch! common this is just plain cruel. I think I'll leave for last that way I can start gridding next page and move on the threads to next page.

Ember II

After a large input in April, May saw little stitching:

April 2014

May 2014

I have finished the first flower and started working on the next one.

QS Poisonous Beauties

April 2014
May 2014

Since the photo has been taken back in May, there is actually a little bit more stitched on this one.

And for the big finale ...

Lean on Me:

April 2014
May 2014

It is finished!!! Mind this was meant to be mentioned in the promised 'finishing mode' post, but that was back when I was ahead. And now I am a little more that behind.

Anyhow till soon. There is still TUSAL update from last month to go ... and almost time to begin afresh with this month's updates.

P.S. The questions of the month were: what designs or themes do you really wish you could find? What do you think is missing among stitching designs?

Well to answer I'd have to say I wish I could find Judy Rossouw work easier. They either cost a fortune and then a fortune in postage, or just nowhere.
I wish I could buy kits for cards. The sort with pre-printed card blank. I am including 2 examples. One was a free kit with World of Cross Stitching. And the other I have created myself around the design. There is only a few I came across in this style.
