Wipocalypse - December/Final post for 2012

December Update:

After the last update realisation hit me that there wasn't much chance of me being able to complete all set projects, so I set a mini goal to concentrate on completing Fizzy Moon and 1 page of my HAED for this year end. So...

A Fizzy Moon finish (which ended up being mums Christmas present ... so expect another pillow appearing on the blog soon):
September 2012

December 2012
HAED:
The latest page progress:

November 2012
December 2012
Overall progress:
November 2012

December 2012

I have even managed to start the next page.

Error corrections and unexpected stitching:

So then I had a little time to correct/start correcting a few errors I have clumsily made this year:

In Big Ben there should have not been any dark in the reflection ... silly me has mixed up symbols
May 2012
This error I have unpicked and corrected, then done some unexpected stitching:
December 2012
In Venice the events occurred the other way around. I have been working on it to discover that I did not account for the overlap of 10 squares in my gridding so there is a 10 square wide line down the centre where the 2 pages of design overlap.
August 2012 - part 1
December 2012 - extra stitching

December 2012 - extra stitching and the start of unpicking

So a grande total of 8 complete. Next year although we are told to set the goals in the 1st check-in post I think I will do in advance hopefully before the year begins. This I think I will do by changing the Wipocalypse 2012 tab, and will have more SMART objectives (something I have learnt on my course). So I will update the sidebar links, and the tabs to reflect this update in the next few days. And now back to study.

Till soon,

P.S. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

TUSAL/Wipocalypse updates, a finish, and some starts...

It seems I have vanished from the blogging world ... which would be a good thing if I had done lots and lots of stitching, but sadly that is not the case. I have taken a picture of my jar last month and only now am getting round to posting it, and since then the jar has not seen any additions to it.

A little pathetic. Right? Anyhow to redeem myself in the lack of posts department I am posting a picture of a card I have completed last month:

It was a free kit that came with the May 2012/issue 163 of Cross Stitch Crazy.

Also I have started a few others ...

the I have ran out of thread for this one ... the free kit said do either one of the designs ... but I guess I picked the wrong one of the two as one colour was missing and one ran out.

Since I took this picture I have completed all the cross stitching ... apart from light green as guess what I have ran out of it. It was the most silly kit I have seen in a while. There was less dark green on the chart than light ... yet there was too much dark green thread and not enough of light.

Wipocalypse update is squashed at the bottom due to serious lackness of it:

This is how I have left my summer extravaganza:
August 2012 - part 2
And after a little work this is how the current page I am working on looks now:

October 2012
And as a whole picture:

October 2012

And sadly that's it ... but I do promise to be better next month. Will catch up on people's blogs tomorrow ... better go and fulfil my duties of baby sitting my little brother.

Until (I hope) soon,

Snowman finish and TUSAL update ...

I haven't blogged in a long time it seems. The past week or two was spent working ... finally a few extra hours. Brighton and London trip was good. Warm. Where is the fairness that we have had essentially no summer here up North. Over the past few years my summer wardrobe has decreased and the collection of jumpers has grown. I am still knitting my latest jumper, just need to finish off the front, and do sleeves, and then I can begin the next one. I have already picked the design and the yarn ... but for now back to cross stitch news:

I have completed one of the Wipocalypse projects. It has only taken me a total of a year and a half to stitch or a year and a half hiding it in a box, while beginning new projects].

done!!!

TUSAL update is very sad this month ...

I have continued stitching in the evenings, but the threads in the dimensions kit I'm working on are longer than in others. I have also managed to break a needle, and the 2nd is getting slowly to a similar stage.

September

A very pathetic collection of ORTs indeed ... maybe next month I can redeem myself.

Till soon,

Again a finish, some progress, and lots of gridding

Wipocalypse - August 2012 update - part 2

For this update I was hoping to have 2 finishes, but will have to settle with one.

The final card to the 'Country Trio' is complete:

It only took 2 evenings to do in the end. The problem with this design was that the chart was in the magazine my sister decided to borrow awhile back, and she happens to live on the other side of the country! Eventually she has agreed to scan and e-mail me the chart. [Of course I have now deleted the copy on my computer in view of copyright and all.]

Continuing on the update: this month held little progress on the HAED:

August 2012 - part 1

August 2012 - part 2

then the recent start had a few extra colours stitched:

August 2012 - part 1
August 2012 - part 2
The HAED was a little big and uncomfortable to stitch during the film sessions in the evenings, so I picked something smaller. Or rather had my mum pick. I decided to stitch either 'Venice' or 'Dance Leader' after completing the small card; she chose the second.

Speaking about mum ... I have mentioned last time that she was going away for 3 weeks, so during them I have concentrated on something for her. Since her return I have been working on the 'Handpicked by Fizzy' during my lunch hour at work (which slowed the progress down). I was hoping to complete this project for this update, but still need to do almost all of the backstitching. I might take this project to work on the train to London this weekend.

August 2012 - part 1

August 2012 - part 2
My mum is also in need of some leftover threads for her sketchbook on colour for the latest module of her course. So I have moved on to another project I have begun awhile back:

March 2012
It is a Dimensions kit, which means I won't be able to use the leftover thread for any other projects pretty much. So I just need to complete it now.

August 2012 - part 2

Although it does not look like much extra was stitched (which is true - only 2 hours went into stitching), I have spent quite a few nights gridding ... hope it will help make the stitching go smoother and faster.

Till soon,
