I Love Library Books (updated: 23/12/14)

Hosted over at Book Dragon's lair. So do visit the blog if you fancy yourself a reading challenge. There are a few over ones if you want to get involved in something not library related.

I am a part-time librarian as many of you know, so borrowing way too many books is pretty much a given. So this challenge is definitely something that I agree with. Why buy books when you can borrow from a library? And for those snobs that say that libraries only stock out of date stuff and nothing modern can you please go and ask a librarian in your local library if you can reserve the specific book you think is modern. If it is not in the library I bet the helpful librarian will order one in for you for a small charge. (I do buy books too, but only those that I will read more than once, for reference, and out of print to get from the library.)

Anyhow onto the challenge:

"Our love of reading can be expensive! Not only are we purchasing books but some of us also need space to keep them."

Rules are:

  • choose a level - you may move up as needed, just not down.
  • check books out of the library
  • books may overlap with other challenges
  • any format allowed (print, ebook, audio)
  • reviews are not necessary but a list of books read is. (post with review linky is coming)
  • a blog is not necessary, just comment that you want to join in.

Levels:
  • board book - 3
  • picture book - 6
  • early reader - 9
  • chapter book - 12
  • middle grades - 18
  • Young adult - 24
  • adult - 36
  • just insert IV - 50

I have decided that I will go for 'adult' this year ... but I hope to meet the criteria for the 'just insert IV'. So I should aim for at least 3 per month.

  1. So glad you could join us!

I read junior fiction as well as picture books. I don't have job, sibling or child to use as an excuse. I just love them. :-)

    1. Yes it is going to turn into that for me too. My brother refuses to read picture books. But there are a whole lot of other exciting adventures the two of us can enjoy. I just wish I could get through the adult ones as fast. Looking at the list I bet I will make the 'just inset IV'!
